That's the question I've been asking myself too for some times, why the 
**** does autoreconf need cvs... Sometimes autotools are just magic... 
But I think Jérémie might have a better answer than mine!

Anyway, if you take the source tarball, it should be ok (at this time, 
it is the latest svn version).
