Hi!

According to the Gregorian Institute of America's "Chants of the
church" <http://www.musicasacra.com/pdf/chantsofchurch.pdf>, it seems
to go down to the lowest notehead (see pp.18, 20, 26, 28, 66, 67, 68,
...) but it's slightly longer when the 1st note is on a line, the 2nd
is just under (pp 22, 25, 34, 48, 55, ...).
