Thanks, that easy enough to understand. Two follow-up questions:
1) Am I right that maintainerclean is only implemented in develop at the moment, but that clean and distclean work on both develop and release-3.0?
2) If I have a personal file which is untracked in my local repository (such as my installation script which runs through all the steps needed to build and install Gregorio automatically) will maintainerclean remove it, or is maintainerclean only going to remove files created by the autotools build/install process?
