I think we should aim to have 5.0 out by the end of the year so that we
have time to prep it for TeX Live 2017. To that end, let me summarize
the open 5.0 issues and comment on my ability to work on them:

#893 - provide Sublime Text 3 syntax highlighting
... Sublime Text 3 is a paid editor which I don't use, so I am unable to
work on syntax coloring for this editor.

#922 - new mechanism for hyphen determination
... I think I understand what is desired (the
intersyllablespacenotesminus bit described in the issues opening post),
so I have assigned this to myself. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

#923 - new way of specifying inter-syllable stretching
... I don't have confidence in my ability to work on this, but I will
try if no one else has time.

#959 - bar spacing at end of line wrong for automatic end of lines
... This one is beyond me, but perhaps with more guidance I may be able
to cobble something together.

#998 - high level mode styling function
... We need more input on this one before we can work on it. We should
set some sort of cut-off date, after which we push it to gregorio-next.

#1029 - gabc <clear>tag
... The C code is in, but currently does nothing. The TeX part is
beyond me.

#1125 - Finer control on notes-text spacing
... I don't have confidence in my ability to work on this, but I will
try if no one else has time.

#1140 - calling \GreHyph with an argument
... This is waiting for Élie to confirm what remains to be done.

#1182 - changing default spaces
... Assigned to Élie, who is getting a newer set from his sources to
pull into Gregorio.

#1224 - Gregoriotex falis when there is a space in filename.
... Assigned to Br. Elijah, who apparently has something in the works.

#1240 - Documentation for installing alternate fonts
... Premature at this time. This will come out naturally once we have
packaged things in the new way.

Thoughts, comments, additions?

Thanks,
Henry
