The new defaults were taken from the Italian Antiphonale project (see
https://github.com/gregorio-project/gregorio/pull/1276 and
https://github.com/gregorio-project/gregorio/pull/1266) and thus
represent a real use case rather than the hodge-podge of "that sort of
looks good" spacings we used previously as defaults. I don't think
there's any real "best" solution for picking the defaults and so while I
wouldn't be opposed to changing them, this might be a sort of Pandora's
box issue.
What do the other developers think about tweaking the spacing defaults
further?
