I am having the same issue stated here, and 'a' is being added to the
beginning of the score, in addition to random '-' signs appearing at
the ends of phrases intermittently. I am running v 1.0 on Mac OSX and
have done a fresh install and the problems persist. Do I have to
uninstall first before installing the latest version?

Many thanks,
Adam Bartlett

Hello,

That 'a' at the end of \setinitialclef is not a mistake; the third
argument was added to allow the flatted key signature feature (where a
flat is displayed at the start of each staff line, instead of in front
of each flatted note). The 'a' signifies that this particular score
uses a plain clef, without flat. You shouldn't even notice it in the
final output, so I'm not sure why it's negatively impacting your
scores -- perhaps you have an outdated copy of gregoriotex-signs.tex?
Attached is the version that shipped with v1.0 -- if you replace your
version with this one, are your scores okay?

Thanks for using Gregorio,

-Tracy
