It is not quite clear to me exactly what you are asking. Do you want some of
the commentary lines left justified and then some others right justified? Or
are you asking for one part of a line to be left justified and a second part
right justified? The later is what I do. The first part give the Mass number
and usage (left justified) and then the period from which the chant originates,
right justified, all on the same line. For example:
Missa I: During the Easter Season X. s.
The command to do that is:
\renewcommand{\commentary}[2]{{\it #1 \hfill #2}}
And as an example:
\commentary{Missa I: During the Easter Season}{X. s.}\\
If that is not what you want, an example would be helpful.
