(I forgot to reply to the list again... Apologies.) I don't know what tool you're using to run the file, but I also get errors with other size papers, running from the command line. The error from LaTeX is an overfull hbox.
I wish I could tell you what the cause is, but until someone more knowledgeable steps in, you can work around this by putting z's to force line breaks.
