I downloaded the last version of Gregorio from svn, compiled it, built the ubuntu/debian package that has always version number "1.0-1", but couldn't install it.

pf@papatango:~/prg/gregorio$ sudo dpkg -i gregoriotex_1.0-1_all.deb

Selecting previously unselected package gregoriotex.

(Reading database ... 375399 files and directories currently installed.)

Unpacking gregoriotex (from gregoriotex_1.0-1_all.deb) ...

dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of gregoriotex:

 tex-common (3.13~ubuntu12.04.1) breaks gregoriotex (<= 2.0-1.1) and is
installed.

Version of gregoriotex to be configured is 1.0-1.

dpkg: error processing gregoriotex (--install):

 dependency problems - leaving unconfigured

Processing triggers for fontconfig ...

Errors were encountered while processing:

 gregoriotex

I have the intuition that changing the version number of the package we just built could solve this issue, but have no experience on hows to do this.

Thanks for helping me to go further.

Dear all,

I am now almost done with the luatex updates, everything works very fine, better and faster than in TeXLive 2012! A noticeable change is that Polyglossia now works with LuaLaTeX.

Now I've started some changes in Gregorio, and today is quite a big one: I dropped the old font system for a much more simple and modern one. pfb, ovf, ovp, ofm and map are now replaced by one single .ttf file, very simple to install (it's enough to have it in your current directory or in C:\Windows\Fonts). I think it will make everyone's life easier as the difficulty to install gregorio has now dropped a lot. If some people can test the current svn and give me some feedback (there might be some little bugs remaining), it would be great!

Also, I've started to adapt the gregoria2gregorio.py script in order to have the same change for users of Gregoria, but I have to say it poses more difficulties. Before I start digging into all this, I would like to know if some of you actually use Gregoria?

I will answer to the other mails soon. If you are motivated, I updated the "donation" link to my Paypal account.

Thank you,
