On my Ubuntu, I've got /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/fontforge.so.
Perhaps you could try :
*sudo ln -s /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/python-fontforge.so
/usr/lib/python2.7/site-**packages/fontforge.so* ?
