In typesetting a whole bunch of verses from a single gabc file, I'd like to tell LaTeX that I'd prefer page breaks to fall between verses rather than in the middle of one (each verse is just two lines long). My first attempt at doing this was to place "<v>\pagebreak[3]</v>" at the end of each verse, but that raises the following error (actually a pair of errors):

Runaway argument?
{\pagebreak [3]
./Magnificat.tex:1122: Paragraph ended before \gresyllable was complete.
<to be read again>
\par
l.1122

?

Underfull \hbox (badness 10000) in paragraph at lines 1110--1122
[][][]\gregoriosymbolfont B\EU2/lmr/bx/sc/12 . \EU2/lmr/m/n/12 Si0 [][] [][]

Underfull \hbox (badness 10000) in paragraph at lines 1110--1122
[][]
./Magnificat.tex:1123: Too many }'s.
l.1123 \greboldfont{\Vbar{}.} Si}
                               {}{0}{}{cut}{8}{}{%
?

Any suggestions?
