- launch a term session (commad + space, then write term and launch the
terminal application)
- in the terminal, write grego then hit tab button : if the command is
completed, then Gregorio is correctly installed and accessible for every other
program
- if not : send a mail to the list
- close the treminal session (commad + q)
II. Texworks settings
Texworks is the packaged editor coming with MacText (and TexLive). It si not
realy sexy nor sophisticated. But it is ok to compile GABC files (scores) and
LaTex files (books/article).
- launch Texworks from the launchpad or from the search tool (as for the
terminal)
- Go to menu Texworks / Preferences
- Go to tab composition
- In the 2nd part of the window, select "Lualatex" and get it up to the top of
the list using arrows
- Select "Lualatex" as the default under the list
- If you do not have Lualatex in the list :
* click "+" button
* fills form as this :
. Name : Lualatex
. program : lualatex (.exe on MS Windows)
. Arguments :
$synctexoption
$fullname
. check "See PDF"
. click "OK"
- click "+" button
- fills form as this :
* Name : Gregorio
* program : gregorio
* Arguments : $fullname
* Do not check "See PDF"
* click "OK"
- Get Gregorio up to the 2nd place, just under "Lualatex"
With this setting, you will be able to edit GABC scores and compiled into tex
files them as editing Latex files to get your pdf final files.
III. Example
For example, I've joined Kyrie I score in GABC format.
Create new folder as a working directory and save the file in.
On the gabc file with Texworks, choose gregorio in the list in the upper left
and click the arrow.
The kirie_I.tex will be generated in your working directory.
Save the 2nd file livret-kyrie1.tex in the same directory and open it with
Texworks. Take time to look after the "\begin{document}" how to include a score.
To compile the Latex file, the kyrie_I.tex file must be in the same directory
as the livret-kire1.tex.
Then choose "Lualatex" and click the arrow to get the pdf file with your score
which will be opend in a new texworks windows.
