Oh, because some might find it interesting, here's a couple of links to explain why the OP is having a font encoding problem despite using utf8:

The boiled down summary is that he's probably using utf8 for input (i.e. what he sees on the screen as he edits the source file) but TeX isn't translating that into the output (i.e. what appears in the pdf file). This isn't surprising because LuaTeX/LuaLaTeX (the engine which typesets the document) has native support for utf8 input, but still uses the Computer Modern, which doesn't, as it's default output font.
