Dear Gregorio Community,
PAX. I am working on revised books for our monastery’s divine office in
TexShop (v 3.51). A typical office has a hymn, antiphons, psalmody, and
responses, of varying length and in varying orders. Our texts are simple. I
compose chants in Gregorio, and do everything else in TexShop. So far, it’s
working pretty well. I have two quick questions today. I apologize because
they probably have simple answers. They may be addressed in the online GNA
documentation; however, I must confess that this stuff is too technical for me
to understand.
1) My typical TexShop documents have multiple Gregorio scores. At present, I
can’t find a way to insert a space between the scores in TexShop. When I try
to insert a space using various line break commands, I get error messages
during the compilation. Example from Terce for Mondays during Lent. How do I
insert spaces between the three Gregorio scores?
V: O God, come to my assistance.
R: O Lord, make haste to help me.\\
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit;
As it was in the beginning,
is now and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen. \\
\gregorioscore{lentnuncsancte.gabc}
\gregorioscore{mondayterceantiphon1.gabc}
\gregorioscore{toneviiig.gabc}
\begin{center}
\textit{Psalm 118 (11, Kaph)}\\
\end{center}
2) Second question. Gregorio automatically renders the initial letter of a
score as a very large letter in front of the score. Is there a way to make the
initial letter look like all of the other letters in the score? If it matters,
I think I am still using the 4.0 Beta.
Thanks very much. Again, I apologize for the simplify of these questions. I
appreciate your help. A most blessed day to all members of our community.
