Deal All,

Pierre asked me how to obtain initials I posted some weeks ago in my "O
Sacrum Convivium" score, here's my code.

I post it here because maybe someone else can be interested in this.

You need the fontspec package be uploaded, *before Gregoriotex*, with the
following options:

\usepackage{fontspec}

\defaultfontfeatures{Ligatures={TeX}}

\setmainfont{<your main font>}

\newfontfamily{\Medieval}{Medieval Victoriana No.1}% --> freely
downloadable here:

http://www.1001freefonts.com/medieval_victoriana.font

I have to say that this font is not so well drawn, but for small works it
is nice. Capital A is particularly awful, unfortunately… Then, we set up
the following options:

\grechangedim{annotationraise}{7mm}{scalable} % --> to match initial height

\grechangedim{beforeinitialshift}{1mm}{scalable} % --> freely tunable…

\grechangedim{afterinitialshift}{1mm}{scalable}

\grechangestyle{initial}{\fontsize{46}{46}\Medieval}%

And that’s all!

Thank you very much / Mille grazie!

Sr. Maria Ruth
