Hi everybody,
here's a public service announcement for the package authors out there
(hope the active ones are on this list): The upload of function packages
from within gretl does not work anymore with the released gretl
versions, including the current 2022b. The reason is a technical change
at the sourceforge server, which also has been hosting gretl's
contributed packages since the veteran package server (at Allin's
university) was retired about a year ago.
The good news is that this problem is fixed in the git source repo and
should by now also be in the snapshots for Windows and Mac. So it will
also work again in the next gretl version 2022c, which will be released
"real soon now".
If you need any help with uploading a new version of your package (or
even a new package...!), feel free to contact us on this list or also
off-list.
Note that for regular users the download of packages from within gretl
is not affected. That's why I'm only posting to the development list here.
