OK, thanks, got it. But so far I have no idea why this should be happening. In case anyone else on Windows is in a position to test: Manny has the main gretl window open full-screen; he has opened the model specification dialog on top of the main window, and is moving the dialog left to right by dragging its title bar when he gets the "gretlw32.exe has encountered a problem" message.
