Thanks for the report. I had no idea that you could use the GTK file selection dialog in that way (i.e. choose a directory by dragging a file from it onto the File Save window). I found that the crash you describe was also reproducible on Linux, and it's now fixed in git. However, I might add that if the file you drag is valid for the "save data as" case (that is, has the .gdt or .gdtb extension), you don't get a crash.
