Just a stupid question, but were this the issue, why not merely write something like> works only for lo, not eth0. > no eth0 info in /etc/network/interfaces. Must be a problem of your own network setup. No problems here, works as expected, sorry. regards, -mika-
"iface eth0 inet dhcp" in the interfaces file, presuming the addy is called from dhcp?
Or, add the addy if it is static?
Does the dhcp server require a pw? I am presuming this is a wired connexion.
If wireless, let me know, please, and I shall try what I can.
