OK, this tip might not be exactly right for grml, but still: since grml is working on new processor architectures like PPC and 64-bit x86 (and don't forget 64-bit PowerPC!).
T2 Linux is all about re-targeting. It impressed us by booting obscure machines on which other "ported" distributions croak. It runs many OEM eval boards.
