Loading of the kernel and initrd - takes a while on external devices with lilo. Maybe using Grub instead is worth a try. > At the end of this a message was displayed: BIOS data check succesfull (or > something similar). > Now we come to the booting-process. One of the messages between is: > SCSI-error, return-code = 0x00050000 > What's this? Sorry no idea yet. Can you please provide me a screenshot of the booting process where it hangs? (Please put the screenshot on a webserver and don't send it directly to the mailinglist, either use a public image service if you don't have webspace on your own or please mail it to me off-the-list.) Oh, and you might want to try to use root=UUID=... instead of root=/dev/sd[a-z]... so you can make sure your system uses the correct device for booting. regards, -mika- -- http://grml.org/ # Linux for texttool-users and sysadmins http://wiki.grml.org/ # share your knowledge http://grml.supersized.org/ # the grml development weblog #grml @ irc.freenode.org # meet us on irc
