What's in the process list when running aptitude/apt-get? (ps auxwwww) Do you use etckeeper? Does removing etckeeper help? (dpkg --purge etckeeper) What's inside /tmp/log if you execute "strace -f -eopen -o /tmp/log apt-get install longrun"? regards, -mika- -- http://grml.org/ # Linux for texttool-users and sysadmins http://wiki.grml.org/ # share your knowledge http://grml.supersized.org/ # the grml development weblog #grml @ irc.freenode.org # meet us on irc
