Dear Denis, > I've put new versions of two packages on the web, > my programs for installing the URW fonts for use with groff, > Futher suggestions are welcome. Look in:
Since there are only two versions of URW fonts roaming around the net, original URW (AKA ghostscript-6 fonts) and current fonts (AKA ghostscript-8 fonts, with Russian and extended Latin but also with bugs and not 1-2-1 compatible with original URW fonts in the "old" part, http://www.ghostscript.com/pipermail/gs-devel/2004-October/006841.html ), it seems reasonable to include ready groff font description files in the distribution of your program. Valek Filippov, who extended URW fonts, made some future versions available after ghostscript picked up his work, but what distributions adopted them? But if you really want the "greatest" extension of URW, you may want to include the latest pfb/pfa files Filippov produced. Sincerely, Michail
