I suppose they can ensure all the man pages they ship conform to just
the subset of troff that their man-page processor can handle, but what
about man pages from others.  Either users with a ~/man, or things
installed under /usr/local, etc.  Presumably, you'll be able to say
"This is no good, I want groff installed and man to use it, like $DEITY
intended"?
