Right, that's the problem.
$ find /etc/machine-id | nroff | xargs ls
ls: cannot access '/etc/machine‐id': No such file or directory
$
Judging by the lack of suggestions, I'm assuming `\-' is the best bet to
get a paste-able ASCII `-'.
