In case someone is interested, here is what I created with pic(1). I guess the proper term for it is "gantt chart".
Very close to what I had in mind, but suggestions for improvements or comments on inelegancies are very welcome. I use a bash-script on a linux system and am not sure how portable that all is, so I also add the final PDF in case you cannot reproduce it. I now also looked at busgrap and it looks as if it could also be used but I'm not sure and would need to play much more with it. What I noticed is that the HowTo on page 8 talks about PDFmark but the parameter that is actually used is called PDFBOOKMARK (or PDFBookMark) -- as far as I can say. Regards, Dirk
