There are talks of switching the www.gnu.org web server from Apache
to Nginx. The problem is that Nginx doesn't support .htaccess. So we
need to replace the redirections that are now in
/groff/manual/.htaccess with symlinks. An obsolete redirection of
groff.es.html to groff.html could also be removed.
If you agree but don't have time to apply the attached patch, I will
gladly do it.

I'll take a crack at it. Thanks for the heads-up!
It looks like you already took care of it, incorporating my feedback
above. Thanks!
groff/.symlinks hasn't changed for the last 25 years. :)
Should I be getting an HTTP 502 from:
https://web.cvs.savannah.gnu.org/viewvc/groff/
?
This happens once in a while. The GNU/FSF servers are under constant
DDoS from AI bots these days, and they can't keep up. This is especially
bad on week-ends, when no sysadmin is on duty.
