This version removes "BMP Peer Down Reason Codes” from the list of affected registries, per Tom Petch’s IETF LC review. <tp> John I think that this risks others in future will fall into the trap as several have done recently " Specifically, any BMP registry with a range of 32768-65530 designated "Specification Required" has that range re- designated as "First Come First Served". " Those familiar with the technology will look at RFC7854, if they do not already know, will see seven registries listed, will look at s.2 and see only six and will 'know' that the author has got it wrong. The Abstract needs to be clearer NEW RFC 7854 defined seven such registries but this was in error as one of the seven was for a eight bit field. This issue has been addressed by Erratum 7194 I do not think that the Abstract needs to go further but I do think that s.1 should NEW RFC8754 defined seven registries and the IANA Considerations therein specified the allocation procedures for these registries. The Peer Down Notification Registry was specified as if it were a 16 bit field whereas the protocol uses an eight bit field. This issue has been addressed by Erratum 7194; that registry is not updated by this document. A recent discussion led to the RFC Editor saying that Errata should be referenced as https://www.rfc-editor.org/errata/eid#### I think that such a Normative Reference is needed here with a label such as [EID 7194].
