I've been running growl for several years on my MBP (10.5.6). Recently it stopped working for my login. It works for a test vanilla login on my box, but not for mine.
In my session, the growl icon is grayed out in my menu bar but all of the menu choices appear to function (I can stop start, etc..). In the 'vanilla' session it isn't grayed out. In the System Preferences for Growl->Display Options, I can preview and see the notification window just fine. I've tried disabling most of my login startup processes, but that hasn't helped. I am not running any Logitech software, but I am running Safari 4. I've completely uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled growl (it couldn't find the helper app during the uninstall, but it had been running prior to the uninstall.) I only install growl as an admin so that it is for all users, so it only exists in /Library. If I look at the process table for growl I see GrowlHelperApp and GrowlMenu running. How can I get growl to log what is going on so I can debug this?
