Thank you for your intended help, David. Not sure I'm following how it relates to my questions.
Am focused solely, for now, on Growl's interaction with OmniFocus. Two key issues are having Sticky Notes apply to all notifications from OmniFocus, not just one type and how to set a sound to go with the notification's opening for all. If you have the patience and willingness to do so, please revisit my questions, included below, and see if we can connect on what I'm doing wrong. Thank you. Here's the text from my initial inquiry. Using Growl with OmniFocus: 1. Growl Preferences set to leave notifications on screen after 60 seconds of inactivity. Sticky Notifications checked. Notifications relating to OmniFocus backup production stay on screen but regular action notifications from OmniFocus pop up as they should but then close by themselves after 10 or 15 seconds. With Sticky Notifications, shouldn't they all just stay on the screen until I release them manually? That is the behavior I want. Any ideas about how to make that work consistently? 2. At one point when first dealing with Growl, there appeared a method to assign a sound to the notifications so they would pop up visually and aurally. Since that original set up, I've been unable to find the sound settings. How can I get there from here? Also, like the Sticky Notifications issue, the alerts for OmniFocus backup production comes up with the sound, the other notifications seem to be silent. I'd like them all to be audible. Is there a way to make this consistent as well? Also, is there any way to control the volume? The sounds that do occur for the backups is very low despite the volume settings I've chosen for the computer as a whole. I listen to classical music much of the time that I work. iCal alerts with sound are comfortably audible. Need the same performance from Growl with OmniFocus. Please advise how I can get there. 3. In a tutorial on OmniFocus from Screencasts On Line there is reference to a tutorial on Growl, touted, like the ones for OmniFocus, as available without membership. Can you tell me how I can view that tutorial? It does not appear available at Screencasts. Thank you for your help. Peter L.
