I have an IMAP account, and I check my email from multiple places.
When new messages are downloaded to this computer, growlmail notifies
me for every single email that goes to my inbox, even if I've already
read it.
I used to have it notify for all mailboxes, but I got sick of it re-
notifying me every time I moved a message, even though they were
already read.
