Hopefully you were talking to a very inexperienced "genius" at the genius
bar.

Mail plugins live in (off the top of my head, I'm not in front of my mac)
<Your Home Directory>Library/Mail/Bundles or <Your Hard
Drive>/Library/Mail/Bundles
