Ok, it is working now. I would like to suggest that a clear statement be placed somewhere on the Growl website for SL users to find the information needed. Something posted there would be really useful, with a link to the new growl and growlmail - only the old 1.1.6 is showing as available for download.
Also the growl mail seems to be working with my Mail now, but there is no link for that on the website either. Thanks Growl folks! .m.
