For me it doesn't : I installed 1.2b1 and the console gives the
following error:

   GrowlHelperApp[33841]    WARNING: could not register Growl server.

But when I do a ps -efx | grep -i growl, I see the helper running.
How can I test if Growl works or not? If I download a large file with
Safari and switch to the Finder, I do not get a Grwol message when the
file is downloaded.

Should I uninstall first? How can I COMPLETELY uninstall?
