That checkbox is configurable, people can go disable it. This comment does not make sense. We will not release another version of Growl for 10.4. Period. We have dropped support for it in everything except the SDK. The SDK is not a user facing item. If we thought we'd maybe in a million years do it, sure, we'd think differently here and recommend something else, but we're just not interested in supporting that platform any further with Growl itself. The decision was made solely on the fact that we have a limited amount of people working on Growl, and supporting a platform that has addressed items in newer platforms just didn't make sense. I have no interest in forcing volunteers to do work that they don't want to do/need to do.
