Thanks for the quick response Peter.

I'm just running the Terminal application that ships with OSX. Below
is the the output. After returning to the prompt nothing happens at
all. The growlnotify application is set up and Enabled in the Growl
preferences so i'm not sure what else I could be missing. Thanks
again.

Enter a notification description, followed by newline, followed by
Ctrl-D (End of File). To cancel, press Ctrl-C.
