Howdy folks,

I am having the same symptoms reported by several people previously on
this thread: http://forums.cocoaforge.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=17999. I
have a Mac Mini (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz, Snow Leopard, Growl 1.2) and
an old PowerMac (dual 800MHz G4, Tiger, Growl 1.1.6) configured to
forward notifications to my MacBook Pro (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.93GHz,
Snow Leopard, Growl 1.2), but (almost) no notifications ever appear on
the MacBook Pro, even though plenty appear on the sending machines.
The MacBook Pro has "Listen for incoming notifications" checked,
"Allow remote application registration," UNchecked and no password for
what it's worth. The other two machines have the "Forward
notifications to other computers" box checked and another check next
to the the MacBook Pro's name.

I do not see any messages from Growl in the system logs of the sending
or receiving machines, other than the occasional "Auto discovered
registration ticket" or "Periodic stats". I've port scanned the
MacBook Pro and it is listening on TCP port 23052.

Now here's the weird thing. There is one kind of message that does get
forwarded. I have an AppleScript that uses the GrowlHelperApp's
"notify" command (preceded by a call to "register") and when I run
that script on the Mac Mini the notification is displayed on both the
Mac Mini and the MacBook Pro.

Any help, troubleshooting suggestions, or commiserations would be
appreciated. Thanks for reading. You've been great.

-Michael
