One possibility is that you are running GrowlMail 1.2, which is too
old. Update to 1.2.1b1:

If you have, then you still have an old GrowlMail installed. Run the
Uninstall GrowlMail application on the GrowlMail disk image, then
reinstall GrowlMail 1.2.1b1.
