Installing Growl 1.2 would be one way. Another would be to open the Growl preference pane in System Preferences and turn off the update check. (But you would still have your old version of Growl running.) Still another would be to run the Uninstall Growl application on the Growl 1.2 disk image. (Don't use the one from older Growl disk images; it's broken.)
