Will there be any transition period where both are supported?
Yes. The plan is for 1.3 to be the first and last release series
that supports both. 1.4 and later will kill off both GrowlTalk and
Cocoa Distributed Objects forwarding.
I just realized how my email sounded, sorry about that.
We're close to being done with the 1.2.x line of Growl, and will start
focusing entirely on 1.3 as soon as that is done.
However, in reality this is going to take a while. Peter is really the
only full time dev, and I'm not able to do much with a broken mac
myself, beyond answer emails.
So ya, your binding will work fine for 1.2 and 1.3. Where it will stop
working is 1.4, or whatever comes after 1.3.
I expect that we'll have at least 1, if not two sub releases just to
address things with GNTP.
On a side note, we need help from people who can code, if anyone can
help, please contact myself or Peter.
