No joking, actually. There's no reason you can't utilize this to produce a perfectly serviceable progress bar within Growl via coalesced notifications, which exist to let a single notification be updated over time. The basic limitation is that we are not going to provide custom controls, or even standard non-text controls, within Growl notifications. Even if it could be done in a seamless and attractive fashion, the elevated level complexity is simply out of the scope of what we're interested in as a team and a project. -Evan > > > On Oct 15, 2010, at 1:58 AM, Peter Hosey wrote: > >> On Oct 14, 2010, at 18:36:30, Evan Schoenberg, M.D. wrote: >>> [****••••] >> >> I might suggest using the shade characters instead: >> >> [▓▓▓▓▓░░░░░] >> >> I'm getting Apple IIe MouseText flashbacks now. ←→✓…↩◆⌛! >> >> -- >> You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups >> "Growl Discuss" group. >> To post to this group, send email to [email protected]. >> To unsubscribe from this group, send email to >> [email protected]. >> For more options, visit this group at >> http://groups.google.com/group/growldiscuss?hl=en. >> > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "Growl Discuss" group. > To post to this group, send email to [email protected]. > To unsubscribe from this group, send email to > [email protected]. > For more options, visit this group at > http://groups.google.com/group/growldiscuss?hl=en. > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Growl Discuss" group.
