It would be awesome to be able to hook in an applescript or similar to either filter out some messages and possibly add/remove some text (and no - I don't want every app to provide ways to do this since then I'll have to maintain it in each app instead of unified in growl ,)
This feature is something I would like to apply especially to Adium to implement "show notifications from a group chat as long as my nick have been mentioned within the last 5 minutes". This would allow me to chat in a group and even if the others forget to mention my nick or maybe are crosschatting to others on the same subject ill still get notified for a while and only if I or someone else mentions my name do I keep the notifications "alive" - otherwise it just dies out and I got less to worry about.
