Hi, I installed Growl 1.2.1, on an iMac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard. I only
get a notification box to show on the computer screen if I am in the
preferences of Growl, and do a preview test, or if I change an
applications display style, then it will test appear on the screen.
But Growl isn't giving any messages. I searched your questions, and
tried the "Simplest Notifier Evar". When I press it, Growl does
nothing at all. I've used your uninstaller and uninstalled Growl, and
then re-installed it but it still won't work.
I did check the preference panes, and the Growl.prefPane was removed
when it uninstalled. It put a new one there when it re-installed. I
checked the console utility like you mentioned to another poster, and
I DO see the growl helper app listed there a lot, I think it means it
is crashing? I've even tried re-installing the Growlnotify.pkg too. I
don't see a way on this page to add screen captures? I can send you
captures of the tabs in Growl, the console log, and anything else you
need, if you show me how.
I've tried reading all of the prior questions and faqs on your webpage
before contacting you here, but I just can't get this figured out on
my own.
