Critical points:
- Growl, as always, is compatible with any application that will talk to it.
- If an application doesn't show up in Growl 1.3's list, it's probably not
compatible with Growl 1.3.
- If an application shows up but you don't see notifications from it, remove it
from the list, then quit and relaunch it. If it then doesn't show up, it's
probably not compatible with 1.3.
- You will need to contact incompatible applications' developers and ask them
to update their Growl framework. The Growl team cannot help with this.
More details:
- Not every application that was compatible with older versions of Growl will
be compatible with Growl 1.3. Many applications still use old versions of the
Growl framework. Their developers need to update them. The Growl Project
announced this months ahead of time, but many developers have continued to drag
their feet.
- The Growl Version Detective tells you which apps that you have installed are
compatible:
http://growl.info/files/Utilities/Growl%20Version%20Detective-1.0.dmg
Any applications with framework version 1.2.1, 1.2.2, or newer should work.
If you have any applications that have older Growl frameworks (1.2 or older),
make sure you're using the latest version of that app, and if so, contact that
application's developers.
- The Growl team cannot make an application work with Growl that uses an old
version of the framework or doesn't support Growl.
