I copy-edited the text of the App Store description for Growl 1.3, because it was bothering me. The edited text is below. Feel free to mention any errors I didn't catch.
Additionally, some comments about functionality: New themes are easy to install, but not easy to uninstall (unless I'm missing something). Adding the ability to uninstall themes should be trivial, and would be a useful feature. ========== Growl is the ultimate notification system for the Mac. It's the easiest way to know what's going on with other applications while you're busy working on something else. One day, we were working with pictures in iPhoto while waiting for an important email to arrive. Every time a new email came in, it interrupted our iPhoto workflow when we had to switch to Mail. We had no way of knowing which email was the one we wanted; we had to keep clicking back and forth every time there was a new one. At the end of the day, we decided that we needed a solution to this problem, and thus Growl was born. Never before has there been an application that personalizes notifications in such an effective way. You can receive notifications in several ways, such as seeing them on screen, receiving them via email, or even having them spoken to you. Plus, if you know a bit about web technologies (CSS/XHTML/Javascript), you can make a custom Growl style that fits your tastes. Some more AWESOME features: - You can personalize your notifications. Choose Growl's presentation, look, and feel. - Growl keeps working even when you aren't. Come back to your Mac and review what happened while you were gone with the Rollup view. - It has an easy-to-use Applications tab for controlling which notifications you receive and which get blocked. - You can hear your notifications with text-to-speech, great for those who are visually impaired. - Keep track of your notifications with awesome notification history, so you can check back on old messages. - A variety of styles come pre-installed with Growl, and you can easily install new ones. - Make your own Growl styles quickly and easily with web technologies to give Growl your own custom look and feel. - You can send Growl notifications from Cocoa, AppleScript, or over a network. - Networking allows two or more macs to forward notifications one another. - You can get your notifications on the iPhone and iPad via Prowl. Millions of people need Growl and you do too. Seriously! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Growl Discuss" group.
