i am experiencing the very same issue. i have growl for windows 2.0.7.2 in use to send messages to my local growl 1.3. that worked fine previously with udp and 1.2.x. i have configured growl for windows properly to use GNTP. actually it autodetected my mac (with growl 1.3) in the network tab when clicking the add button. i also tried to temporarily disable my personal firewall. not sure if it's the fault of growl for windows, but they seem to have implemented gntp a lot longer than the brand new mac version.
