Growl runs on its own and needs something to talk to it that supports Growl
in order for it to work.

So for:

Mail: You need GrowlMail.

Safari: I'm not sure what you'll be able to use. We did have something
called GrowlSafari, but that has been retired.

What else do you want notifications from?
