Am I right, then, that it's actually simpler than I first imagined -
just uninstall the interloper in the ways you advise at <http://
growl.info/documentation/growl-package-removal.php>?

Will that simple act of uninstallation remove any potential conflicts?

What is the nature of such conflicts anyway?

Are they in fact as harmful as I imagine(d)?
