I updated to the new Growl from the App store (1.3) and notifications from Thunderbird 7 no longer worked. Rats. I was pretty upset because I depend upon the Growl notifications so I can ignore emails I don't need to answer while I am working.
So here is the fix if you really want the Growl notifications from Thunderbird 7. First stop, then uninstall the latest Growl update you installed (1.3) from the App store which Thunderbird won't talk to -- you can always get it back later from the App store. Now install the previous version of Growl -- I think 1.2.2 or 1.2.1 that works with OS X 10.6. Start Growl again. In Thunderbird, go to Preferences, Advanced, Config Editor, and accept the warning. In the search bar enter mail.biff and look for the line mail.biff.show_alert. Make sure the value is **true**. To change it, just click on the line. This worked for me. Best of luck. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Growl Discuss" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
