I'm actually not sure who you are, since you didn't include your name.

However, if you had worked on Growl you would remember that Growl is
licensed under the BSD 3 clause, and not any of the GNU/GPL/LGPL licenses.
Even the GPL says that you can charge for certain things, and the BSD
license is far more permissive in that regard.
